Kobelco has a proud history as a manufacturer of “compressors”, producing compressed air, for more than 100 years.
Whether a hundred years ago or today, we have constantly needed the “quintessence required of compressors”. We have taken a head-on approach in response to requirements that become increasingly sophisticated and complicated as time goes on, while we continue to ask ourselves “what type of compressors would be truly valuable to our customers” and through all this we have taken on many challenges with a solemn heart. This has resulted in our nurturing numerous technologies, experiences and knowledge, giving us a capability, which has developed us into a one of the industry-leading brands.
We constantly review “craftsmanship” and face our customers at all times, in order to resolve a broad range of issues relating to compressed air. That is “where our roots and strengths” can be found.

Our Strength

Creating truly valuable compressors.

We believe that good compressors are those that “give our customers the most benefit”. A stable supply of compressed air “sustains and improves productivity”, while “reducing energy costs” through energy saving, as it enables “reliability” that is sustained over a long term, which are values we set in our heart as the “quintessence required of compressors” and to that end we maximize the performance of our compressors with proprietary knowledge, cutting edge technologies and a wealth of experience. We deliver to the world compressors and solutions that create positive value for the business and project operations of our customers.

Going beyond “craftsmanship”.

The proportion of electrical power consumed by a manufacturing plant overall is 20 to 25%. This is considered to equal 5% of the electrical power consumption for the entire nation of Japan.
We contribute to energy cost reductions from various perspectives, not just by delivering high-efficiency compressors, but we also propose related equipments and compressed air syetem, while providing know-how for achieving even more energy savings, crossing the boundaries of a manufacturer.

Always remaining an important partner with our customers.

The “suspension of a compressor operation” means the “suspension of customer's productions”. Compressed air is indeed a lifeline for our customer operations and aspects, such as “no stopping” and “no breaking”, are fundamental and the most important characteristic of a compressor. We pursue “no stopping” and “no breaking” from a wide range of perspectives,
including improving the durability of equipment, functions for preventing failures through the detection of anomalies, with designs that take into consideration maintenance and the like. We are also developing functions for verifying the operating status remotely, in preparation for any unlikely events, such as a malfunction or a defect occurring. In terms of organizational aspects also, we establish frameworks to ensure our compressors are used for many years by our customers, with peace of mind, by cultivating service engineers to widely supply reliable technologies in Japan, as well as overseas. We create superior compressors and deliver them to as many customers as possible. These are not our only goals. We also resolve any issues relating to compressed air that our customers may face, while contributing to the business and project operations of our customers through our compressors. These are our missions and our true goals.
Such a spirit and stance have not and, will not change, previously or at the present time, in Japan or anywhere around the world. This is the DNA of Kobelco compressors that has been passed on and continues to flourish reliably today.
